First Christmas
Your baby’s first Christmas is a very special time. And, though, baby will have no memories of the occasion, it’s one you’ll want to celebrate, nonetheless. There are many ways to create memories for your baby’s first Christmas.
Portraits
Baby’s first Christmas is a great time to have professional portraits made. You can have pictures take just of baby or of the whole family. Make sure everyone is dressed in special Christmas attire, and choose a beautiful Christmas backdrop for your pictures. In addition to regular photos, consider having your photographer create your Christmas cards from one of your favorite portraits. They’ll have many card designs for you to choose from, likely including one that reads “Baby’s First Christmas”.
Keepsakes
Most parents choose a few keepsakes for their child’s first Christmas, too. One of the most popular is a baby’s first Christmas ornament. These special ornaments can be found at most card shops and Christmas decorating shops. They’ll have a baby motif, be stamped with the year and likely say “Baby’s first Christmas” too. Many can be personalized with baby’s name and birth date too. Other great keepsakes include baby’s first Christmas stocking and snow globes that read “Baby’s First Christmas” and include the year.
Clothing
You’ll find lots of clothes especially made for baby’s first Christmas, too. Whether you choose one of these outfits for pictures or just for wearing on the big day, you’re sure to find many beautiful outfits from which to choose. Shop at baby stores and department stores beginning in November for the best selection. You’ll also find many small clothing items, like bibs, socks and t-shirts decorated with the saying “Baby’s first Christmas”.
Candid Photos
In addition to Christmas portraits, be sure to take lots of candid photos of baby at Christmas. If baby is very young, prop him up by the Christmas tree for some beautiful pictures. If baby is a bit older, he may enjoy tearing into the brightly colored packages and playing with the ribbons. Both of these activities are sure to bring a smile to baby’s face and make great photographs. And, of course, don’t forget to get a picture of baby on Santa’s lap!
Picture Frames
Another great keepsake for baby’s first Christmas is a picture frame with the year engraved on it. Fill it with a picture of baby taken around Christmas and wearing her best holiday outfit. It’s the perfect picture to sit out during the holidays for many years to come.
Baby’s first Christmas can be great fun, and is certainly a time you’ll want to remember. Be sure to take lots of pictures and find lots of other ways to recognize this special time.
