Keepsakes & Gifts

Sending a gift is a wonderful way to commemorate the birth of a new baby. And, one of the most sentimental ways to do so is through a keepsake gift.
There are many types of keepsakes and gifts that can be personalized to create a treasure that the family will enjoy forever. Some of the most common keepsake baby gifts include:

Sterling Silver Rattles – Many jewelers and gift stores carry these rattles. You can have them engraved with baby’s name, initials or birth date.

Baby Cups – These old fashioned drinking cups are available in sterling silver and porcelain. The silver ones are easily engraved with baby’s information, like rattles.

Baby Bankets – Many companies will embroider baby blankets with baby’s monogram, name or birth date. In addition, you can likely find someone in your local area that will sew or knit a baby blanket for you. By going this route, you may have more choice in colors and designs, allowing you to customize the blanket to match baby’s nursery.

Crystal Keepsakes – Many jewelers and gift stores will also carry crystal creations for baby keepsake gifts. Choose from baby blocks, baby shoes and rattles made from crystal. Some of these can be personalized, as well.

Baby Gift Baskets – If you’d like to create a unique baby gift, have a personalized basket made. You can send cookies decorated with messages welcoming baby or with baby’s personal information. Or, consider flowers in a keepsake vase shaped like a baby bootie.

Footprint Or Handprint Kit – Many gift companies sell kits that can be used to make a cast of baby’s footprint or handprint. Parents will love this gift. They can choose the right time to make the foot or handprint right at home.

Picture Frames – Buy a sterling silver picture frame and have it engraved with baby’s name and birth date. You may be able to find frames in a gift set that includes a keepsake box that can be used to hold treasures such as baby’s first lock of hair.

Keepsake gifts can also be given at baby showers. However, most people choose to give keepsakes after the birth of the child. And, of course, personalized gifts must be given after the child’s birth so that you can include correct information.

Today, most people give practical and useful gifts for new babies. For this reason, receiving a keepsake gift may be especially thrilling to new parents. Your unique gift may be the only item they receive that is simply designed to commemorate their child’s birth.
