Diaper Service

Many parents struggle with the decision of what type of diaper to use. Disposable diapers are very convenient, but they’re very expensive and very unfriendly to the environment. In fact, it takes 500 years for a disposable diaper to decompose in a landfill. And, each year 18 billion disposable diapers reach our landfills. A cloth diaper can be used about 100 times before it needs to be replaced.

The problem with using cloth diapers, however is that they require washing. And, one baby can make a lot of laundry when you’re washing all those diapers yourself. In addition, because your water at home does not get hot enough to sterilize those diapers, your baby may be more subject to rash and infection because the cloth diapers you wash at home cannot be thoroughly cleaned. In addition, when you’re away from home, it’s fairly unappealing to have to carry a dirty diaper around with you until you can get it home.

Using a diaper service provides much of the convenience of disposable diapers with the environmental friendliness and cost effectiveness of cloth diapers. When using a diaper service, you don’t actually purchase any diapers. You subscribe to the service and they provide the diapers. Once a week, they pick up your dirty diapers and leave clean ones. You simply store dirty diapers in the container (usually provided by the service) until pickup day when your dirty diapers are taken away and a batch of clean ones left in their place.

Using a diaper service does cost a bit more than washing cloth diapers at home, but significantly less than using disposable diapers. If you want to avoid having to carry dirty diapers around with you when you’re away from home, consider using disposables when you are away from home and diaper service diapers at home. You’ll still save money and help protect the environment.

In addition, with baby diaper service diapers, you can be assured that your diapers are clean and sterile. Diaper services wash diapers in water hot enough to completely sanitize them. Using diaper service diapers means your baby will be less likely to have diaper rash than a baby diapered in disposables or in home washed cloth diapers.

Many parents choose disposable diapers without even giving the idea of using cloth diapers a second thought. However, using cloth diapers through a diaper service is definitely worth considering for the health of the environment and the health of the family budget.
